First Day of Disney

Just a heads up, this post is packed with pictures.
We had an hour car ride to and from Disney each day which meant there was plenty of time for excitement to build.
Sissa was excited.

hahah

Buddy was so excited he started singing his song again. "We're going to Forda!" I quickly pulled out my camera to take a picture of him dancing and smiling, but as soon as he saw my camera he made a dull face and plainly said, "I am not excited."

We parked, got in line, got out of line since Dad forgot to lock the doors, got back in line, boarded the tram, unloaded the tram, loaded the ferry and rode. Talk about a stressful way just to get to the park. I now know why Disney is called the happiest place on earth. Why you might ask? Because they stress you out with all of the transportation, baggage checks and what not that by the time you finally get into the park (about 30 mins later) you are just so relived to be inside. You don't want to leave because then you have to go through all those things again.
Ok, that was a little exaggerated. It wasn't really that bad, but it wasn't as easy as pie.
Here are some pictures from the ferry ride with my two favorite siblings. ;)

Once we were finally inside the park and had located a restroom we watched a cute little show of some singers and dancers performing to that song about the trolley. It's a super cute song. To listen to it click here.

One of the first things we noticed about Disney was that we may be in America, but I think we were the only ones who spoke English in the whole place. There were all kinds of languages.
Another thing I noticed was that every other person has these awesome buttons that said, "1st Visit". I was determined to get one. If I had a dollar for every time I said I wanted one of those buttons, I wouldn't have to get a loan for college.
I don't have a transition for the next pictures, so here they are.

I hate to burst your bubble, but the castle is actually pretty small... I was sad.
To start out we rode Peter Pan, Mickey's Philharmagic, Dumbo, and the Tea Cups.

The Spinning Tea Cups were my favorite. Buddy and Sissa both enjoyed it. I was expecting them to cry...But they were great sports and did not rain on my parade.
Speaking of rain, right before we ate lunch the sky just opened up and poured. It was quite entertaining to watch people run from the rain like they were going to melt.

While eating lunch I found a hidden Mickey. I was so stinkin proud of myself. (I know, pride is a sin.)

What we did after lunch is a blur. I do know we stood in line for about 30 mins to get Buzz Lightyear's autograph. The line didn't seem that long since I was trying to figure out if the lady in front of me was from England or Australia. They both sound alike to me, however, I decided that she was from Australia since she called her little brother mate. :)
I look like a hunchback...
Here are some more pictures of the castle.

We stopped and listened to a show at the castle. It was pretty cheesy and all about following your dreams. Dad said it sounded like a Joel Osteen sermon. I do agree with Dad, but I'm a sucker for musicals.

We rode a bunch of other rides like It's a Small World. I also found another hidden Mickey in there, but no one believed me. It continued to rain on and off all day.
Oh yeah, remember that button I mentioned earlier. I finally got one. Right as we were leaving that is. The best part was they were free. :)

Now that I have the button and I'm home, I have no idea what to do with it.

Day 3 of Florida

I'm trying to play catch up since I will have alot of new things to blog about starting tomorrow. It's a little overwhelming when you let your self fall behind.
On the third day of Florida my family and I (Yes, I was saying that in my head to the tune of "12 Days of Christmas".) spent all day at the beach. In case you haven't figured out by now, I love the beach. It's just so lovely.  Buddy also loves the beach.

     And so does Sissa.

Buddy and Mom enjoyed  being beaten by the waves.
Sissa figured out how to ride in the waves on a board. I however, did not figure this out until later. :(
We also spent a little time at the pool. We had to leave early since it was about to storm.
On a side note, the pool is a great place to people watch. My mom and I became particularly interested on family. Maybe it was because they kept yelling at their kids, who knows. After much speculation, we decided that the child, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother were all present. ALL of them had on bathing suits and went swimming, yes I mean all as in great grandmother and all. Made me want to yell, "You go grandma!!"

One of the more funnier/embarrassing things happened at the pool this day. We had only been in the pool for about 5 mins when this older man (50ish) who was VERY tan and buff-ish got into the pool. Buddy began yelling and pointing as the guy entered the water, "Look at the fat guy!! Nannah! Look at that fat guy!!" I quickly covered his mouth with my hand and said, "SHH!!!!" Oh goodness. Thankfully, the man did not stay around the pool very long.

Later that night, we played dominoes as a family. To be honest, I really like this game even though I laughed when my mom asked if I wanted to play.

It was a great first day of actually being in Florida.

On the Road Again

On Saturday we began our second leg of the trip. I'll skip telling you about the car ride because once again, it was boring. However, I do have a picture to share with you from the car ride.

Are those not the cutest cheeks ever?!

Once we finally arrived in the town where we were staying our anticipation rose a notch. We were so close to the beach, but yet couldn't see it yet. But, we did see a peacock crossing the road.* I had NO idea that peacocks lived in Florida. (I'm not sure where I thought they lived for that matter.) They were all over the place. It was a pretty neat experience.

*No animals were harmed during the making of this blog*

We finally made it! Once we reached the condo it was a blur of rushing to the bathrooms, unpacking and oooing and ahhing over the view of the ocean and just how cute the condo was. Of course, after all that was over with we had to make a Wal-Mart run for food and some sunglasses. Yes, I lost mine...again. After dinner and cleaning up, it was time to head for the beach!
The sand was like walking on powdered sugar, it was marvelous.

Buddy was not to sure about the water once we started putting our feet in. He said it was going to make him go under. Once I showed him that simply standing in the water was okay, he was all for it. He really enjoyed jumping over the waves as they rolled in.

Today's the Day!!

Let me begin by saying that I had every entention of posting everyday about what was going on while we were in vacation. My plan was quickly ruined when we didn't have internet for the entire trip. So now I'm left with the daunting task of posting about each day of the trip. Let's see if I can remember it all.
As I woke up Friday morning I realized that we were leaving for Florida that afternoon! As you see from above, I remembered to pull the final ticket off and take a picture of it. (I took some with it, but I don't like those). :)
I agreed to work that morning for the secretery at my Dad's office. I really enjoy working there, it is right up my alley. Since this post is about Florida I'll press on and not tell you every detail about work, even though I'd like to.
After work, I had a lunch date with the wonderful Bake. We went to my favorite places, Genghis Grill. You can check them out here. He's a keeper.

Handsome isn't he?
We didn't get to hang out very long since I had to go home and finish packing and get ready to leave. Once the details were accomplished it was time to hit the road. We decided to break the traveling up into two days.
Sissa did pretty good on the trip. She didn't really annoy me which is a big accomplishment. However, she did keep sticking her feet in between my seat and poking me in the behind with them. At one point she said, "I'm sorry, I didn't know it was there." I quickly informed her that it would be there for the remainder of the trip.

Excited much?
Buddy was excited too. He even made up a song that he would sing every once in a while. It went like this, "We're going to Forda! We're going to Forda!". However, if he caught you looking at him he would quickly stop and hide his face.

His hand looks abnormally large...
After about 8 hours or so of traveling we made it to our hotel room, or should I say tiny hotel room. But as long as we had beds to lie in we were content.
Stay tuned for the next installment. :)

Bless Her Heart

When you clean out closets, you find all kinds of odds and ends, like stickers for example. While cleaning out Sissa's closet she found one and stuck it on the side of her face. She left it there until bedtime. (Roughly a total of 6 hours or so). She forgot about it. When she went to take it off this is what happened.
She was left with a huge red circle on her cheek. It was visible for a few days, but finally went away. Sometimes I just have to look at her and say, "Bless her heart..."
